Born in Brazil, the soprano Ana Paula Brunkow possesses a voice that stands out for its singleness of timbre and color. Full Lyric soprano with a colorful voice can interpret several characteres from her vastuous repertoire easily gliding through the medium, high and low pitches with great richness of harmonics and homogeneous texture, she possesses a "sonorous voice that projects itself and is very efficient in a big theater space”.
Has initiated her singing studies in 1990 with the professors and singers Neyde Thomas and Rio Novello.
Has made her début as a soloist at the opera “Magic Flute” (Mozart) – 3rd Genius (1993). In 1994, at the opera “Aída”(Verdi) –the priestess. As the soloist of the Concert in the Convention Center of Curitiba, performing Santuzza of Cavaleria Rusticana with the Lyric Chorale of the Guaira Theather under the regency of Emanuel Martinez in 1994. In 1995/1996 in the Concert “Invocação na Defesa da Pátria” (Invocation in Defense of the Homeland) (Villa Lobos), under the regency of the conductors Emanuel Martinez and Oswaldo Colarusso, and Orquestra Sinfônica do Paraná.
In 1996 at the Opera Colombo (Carlos Gomes) – as Queen Isabella, under the regency of the conductor Aylton Escobar and Orquestra Sinfônica de Bolsitas at Musical Festival of Campos do Jordão. In 2001, has participated in the assembly of the Opera “Il Trovatore” (Verdi) in the Municipal Theater of São Paulo, under orientation of the conductor Marcello Mechetti and the regency of the conductor Mário Valério Zaccaro, performing Leonora, with Symphonic Orchestra of São Paulo. In 2002/2003, has been soloist of the Project “Ópera Illustrata” in Curitiba, roles as – Floria Tosca - Tosca (Puccini), Leonora - Il Trovatore (Verdi) and Santuzza -Cavalleria Rusticana (Mascagni). In 2004, has been soloist on the series “Lyric Concerts RPC”, of the local Rede Globo, in Curitiba, with Symphonic Orchestra of Paraná and regency of the conductor Alessandro Sangiorgi. In 2005, has been soloist of “Italian Lyric Concert” (Gala Lírica), celebrating the special national day of Italy, at Guaíra Theater with Symphonic Orchestra of Paraná and regency of the conductor Alessandro Sangiorgi. Also in 2005, has performed Santuzza in the Opera Cavalleria Rusticana (P. Mascagni) in the close of the VI Festival of Music of Bebedouro, a city of the state of São Paulo, with Symphonic Orchestra of Ribeirão Preto and regency of the conductor Emanuel Martinez.
In September of 2005, has participated in the Project “Um Brasileiro chamado Carlos Gomes” (a Brazilian called Carlos Gomes), singing at Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil at Rio de Janeiro, passages of the operas “Fosca, Lo Schiavo, Maria Tudor and Salvator Rosa”. In november has participaded in the Project “ The Night of Paris”, singing aries of the operas “Carmen”(Bizet), “Sanson and Dalila”(Saint Saens), arie (Gounod) and Lakmè (duet). In August of 2006, has starred at Opera D. Giovanni (Mozart) performing D. Anna, in an interchange program between Brazil and Italy, singing in Guaíra Theater under the regency of the conductor Alessandro Sangiorgi, and in Adria (Province of Rovigo) in Italy, in October of 2006. Has been participating in the series Vesperais Líricas of San Paulo Municipal Theater, in which has performed Leonora of Il Trovatore (Verdi) in 2002/2004 and Amélia of “Un Ballo in Maschera” (Verdi) in 2006. She has superseded amongst other singers in Brasil due to her dramatic interpretations.
In 2007, has been soloist of “Italian Lyric Concert” (Gala Lírica), celebrating the special national day of Italy and G.Garibaldi’s celebration day, at Guaíra Theater with Symphonic Orchestra of Paraná and regency of the conductor Andrea Di Mele. In 2008, has performed Princess Turandot of Turandot (Puccini) of the conductor Andrea Di Mele. Amongst her next performances she’ll partipate in Principessa Turandot (Turandot) in Brazil and Floria Tosca (Tosca) in Italy in 2008. In 2009 has performed Turandot (Puccini) of the conductor Yorofumi Yoshida at Teather Marrucino of Chieti (Italia) and Opera Cavalleria Rusticana (Masgagni) of the conductor Emiliano Patarra in Teatro San Pietro of San Paolo Brazil. In 2010 has performed Suor Angelica from Puccini of the conductor Donato Renzeti at teather lyric from Abruzo Italia (Marrucino) and singing from Opera Tosca (Puccini) at Teather San Pietro San Paolo (Brazil) and received a major criticism in the magazine milan l operates saying ““Sulla scena una compagnia valida a partire della soprano Ana Paula Brunkow, una debutante Tosca, che fa ben sperare che questo potrà essere un personaggio duraturo della sua carriera: la cantante è stata impeccabile, con bel fraseggio e correto registro grave e acuto; ha ben evidenziato le varie sfacettature del suo personaggio, brillando nella aria ((Vissi d´arte)) lungamente applaudita”. October 2010 has performed Norma (Bellini) of the conductor Emiliano Patarra at teather San Pietro Brasil In 2011. In 2012-2014 participated in concerts in Brazil, has been dedicated to lyrical refinement of master class for singers, especially at the Conservatory of Pernambuco and festivals throughout Brazil. In 2015 again played Suor Angelica by Puccini under the baton of conductor Alessandro Sangiorgi, and is part of Cia Opera Orchestra Curytiba under the General Directorate of Rogério Mendes Junior.
Today, his repertoire is followed by Maestro Alessandro Sangiorgi and Massimiliano Carraro (Italy) and technically by the famous Carlo Colombara.
